You'd think that after 25 years of reading your letters and cards, we would have been prepared for the whirlwind of well-wishes last weekend at the Country Living Fair.
Believe it or not, we were still bowled over by all your smiling faces...and the LINE of people waiting to get their books signed! Talking to many of you, we were truly amazed how many traveled from states away just to meet up with us...heartwarming doesn't begin to describe it.
A big THANK YOU to Country Living Magazine for putting on such a great event and allowing us the opportunity to meet up with so many Gooseberry Patch friends...it felt like a big reunion!
One of the reasons we were looking forward to being a part of the 2009 Country Living Fair was that we'd had such a great time shopping in years past! This year did not disappoint...so many great artisans, designers and craftspeople were in attendance this year. From vintage barkcloth pillows to this little weathered house, we found inspiration wherever we looked.
The warmth of everyone who stopped by combined with beautiful blue skies, a nice breeze and warm sun...we really couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Speaking of inspiration, we snapped a photo of this super-fun bike at Home Girl, whose booth was one of our favorites at the fair.
We made lots of new friends while walking around including our fair neighbors, Woolly Bugger, who not only provided us with the best iced tea but the delicious smell of freshly roasted coffee all weekend too. Thanks, Darrell & Kathi!

Fall colors were everywhere and we loved how many variations there were! From traditional painted wood to amazing carved gourds...these soft chenille pumpkins and felt pillows really captured the whimsical spirit of the season.

Another favorite spot of ours to visit (along with The Vintage Barn, pictured here) was Findings, where we loved all of Joanna's one-of-a-kind jewelry made from vintage buttons, charms and more. Really neat stuff!
