Dad's Saturday Waffles

1 c. whole-wheat flour
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1 egg, beaten
milk
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Add enough milk to make batter pouring consistency. Cover batter and place in refrigerator overnight. In the morning, heat waffle iron or griddle, spraying with non-stick vegetable spray. Stir batter and pour into waffle iron or onto griddle. Cook until golden, according to manufacturer's directions. Makes 5 large waffles.
