WOW! When we sent out our Christmas card this morning, we should have known that you guys would want the recipe for that yummy bread shown in the photo. Well, you asked and we listened!
Below you'll find one of our favorites from longtime cookbook contributor, Francie Stutzman of Dalton, Ohio. This recipe of hers appears in our book 101 Christmas Recipes...enjoy it!
Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Bread
Packed with delicious fruit and nuts...share a loaf with a friend!
1 c. sugar
2 T. butter, softened
1 egg, beaten
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
3/4 c. orange juice
1 c. cranberries, chopped
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Blend sugar, butter and egg together in a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; mix well and pour into a greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Makes one loaf.
