Dad’s Tangy Steak Supper
Shared with us by James Lynch of Redfield, Iowa. He writes, "Dad puts
all these ingredients in the slow cooker before we leave for our soccer
tournament. When we get home, there’s a wonderful, warm meal
waiting for us."
2 lbs. beef round steak, cut
into serving-size pieces
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
8-oz. bottle French salad
dressing, divided
salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
Optional: 8-oz. can pineapple
chunks, drained
3 to 4 c. prepared rice
Roll steak in flour; brown in a skillet with 1/2 cup dressing. Add salt and pepper to taste; arrange in slow cooker. Add remaining dressing, onion, green pepper and pineapple if desired. Cover and heat on low setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high setting for 4 to 6 hours. Serve over prepared rice. Makes 6 servings.
