A perfect menu for outdoor eating!
Grab the blanket, delicious food, cold drinks and the family...we're going on a picnic! The spring sun is shining, the warm breeze is blowing and there's no better time to take your lunch or dinner show on the road.
From cold fried chicken and minty punch to turkey bagels and a sweet snack mix, we're sharing some of our most picnic-perfect dishes. Now with food in hand and family in tow, all you need to do is keep an eye out for that smarter-than-average bear.

This sandwich recipe from Big Book of Home Cooking is so very versatile. Instead of using bagels, slice a round loaf of bread in half and layer on all the goodies. Replace the top of the loaf, cut into wedges and share!
4 onion bagels, sliced in half
4 leaves romaine lettuce
8 slices deli smoked turkey
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
2 to 4 radishes, thinly sliced
1 to 2 carrots, peeled and shredded
1/2 c. cream cheese with chives and onions
Arrange 4 bagel halves on a serving tray. Place a lettuce leaf on each; top with turkey, cucumber, radish and carrot. Spread cream cheese on top halves of bagels; place on bottom halves. Makes 4.
