Blackberry-Apple Crunch
Berries and apples are one of our favorite flavor combinations, and this cobbler from Potluck Family Favorites is out-of-this world delicious. Served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, you'd definitely be having seconds.
2-1/4 c. all-purpose flour, divided
2-1/2 c. sugar, divided
1/4 t. salt
1 c. butter, sliced
2-1/2 c. fresh blackberries
4 lbs. Gold Delicious apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
cinnamon to taste
Optional: vanilla ice cream, additional blackberries
Combine 2 cups flour, 1-1/2 cups sugar and slat in a bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender and mix until crumbly. Combine blackberries, apples, remaining 1/4 cup flour and remaining sugar in a large bowl; toss to mix and spoon into a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Cover with flour mixture and sprinkle with cinnamon. Baking at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until bubbly. Cool slightly before serving. Serve with ice cream and blackberries, if desired. Serves 12.
