This sweet & savory chicken dinner is always a winner at our house!
Saucy Apple Barbecue Chicken
Thanks to Melissa Mishler from Columbia City, Indiana, for sharing this family recipe with us! It appears in our cookbook, Everyday Simple Suppers.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 t. pepper
1 T. olive oil
2/3 c. applesauce
2/3 c. spicy honey barbecue sauce
2 T. brown sugar, packed
1 t. chili powder
Sprinkle chicken with pepper. Cook chicken in oil in a large skillet over medium heat until golden on both sides but not cooked through. Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl; spoon over chicken, cover and cook 7 to 10 minutes longer, until chicken juices run clear. Serves 4.
