Here's an old-fashioned treat from Our Best Comfort Foods that's sure to make Dad's day!
Chocolate Chess Pie
This recipe was shared with us by Heidi Jo McManaman from Grand Rapids, Michigan...it's a keeper!
1/2 c. butter
1-1/2 - 1 oz. sq. unsweetened baking chocolate, chopped
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 T. milk
1 t. all-purpose flour
1 t. vanilla extract
9 inch refrigerated pie crust
Garnish: whipped cream
Melt butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat; set aside. Combine sugars, eggs, milk, flour and vanilla in a medium bowl. Gradually add chocolate mixture, beating constantly pour into piecrust, bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Let cool before serving. Serves 6 to 8.
