Here's a sample recipe from the cookbook...perfect for holiday cookie trays!
This cookie recipe comes from Vickie's kitchen...if you're not a fan of walnuts, try sweetened, dried cranberries instead!
3⁄4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
6 1-oz. sqs. white baking chocolate, melted
3-1⁄2 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1⁄8 t. nutmeg
1 1⁄2 c. chopped walnuts, toasted
Garnish: powdered sugar
Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until blended. Stir in vanilla. Add melted chocolate and beat for 30 seconds; set aside. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg, stirring to mix. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating until blended. Fold in walnuts. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
