Best Chocolate Chip Cookies, Jill Ross, Pickerington, OH
This is my go-to recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies. Crispy edges, chewy middles...they’re perfect every time!
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 T. vanilla extract
1 t. baking soda
2 t. hot water
1 t. salt
3 c. all-purpose flour
12-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time; stir in vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water; add to bowl along with salt. Add flour, one cup at a time; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Makes 4 dozen.
